Are Traditional Family Games anything of the past?

Games have developed massively over time. For other interpretations, please consider checking out: sex toys for men and women. As a son or daughter my thoughts of games were Monopoly, Draughts, Cluedo, Guess Who and many many more. All games that people could perform as a family to pass some time away. Hours of enjoyment was had by all.

My personal favorite game was Monopoly a game giving me an insight to Real Estate (ironically enough, I will have a vocation as an Estate Agent). Is that the chance or did my childhood obsession with Monopoly play on by subconscious?

Afternoons were spent with my four siblings enjoying several Sunday, or must I say rowing over this amazing game. The first row would normally be about who would want to be the iron, boot, car etc (they were the items which you had to chose from as you performed) to represent you to the board. My favourite was often your dog!

The next row would be about who went first, and then the next would be about who'd play the role of the Banker.

Finally the game would begin, and how much fun we had. Hours and hours of enjoyable week after week.

How things have changed? Today, although we still have the old conventional Board activities, and I guess we always will, Games are much more sophisticated, and are usually played on pcs, or via DVD Players making use of your Tv sets. I discovered coupon code by browsing newspapers.

You can now play a board game on your own against a Pc (who will act as your opponent) as opposed to having fun with friends and/or family. I find this very sad, especially understanding how much fun we had as children interacting with each other, and watching each other as we rowed over such worthless but then important problems.

I now see my own nephews spending hours on their own before a computer doing offers without the real individual relationship, whilst their parents get on with other activities. I guess one advantage is the fact that if you are an only child you dont lose out on perhaps not playing games just because you'd no-one else to perform it with you. The Traditional activities such as monopoly can now be performed on a computer and the Computer can become your opponent. You may even set what level of difficulty you wish to play at.

The disadvantage to this, in my opinion is that the family getting together and reaching each other seems to be a thing of the past..
